Any person is eligible for lineal membership in the ACGS, Inc who is 18 years of age or over and bears the name MacGregor or variations thereof, or the name of one of the numerous Septs, who can trace his/her ancestry to Scotland or the Americas prior to 1850. Eligibility also includes descendants of an ancestor born prior to 1812 bearing the surname of Magruder or MacGehee. The spouse of a Lineal Member may become an Associate member. Associate Members can hold any office with the exception of Chieftain or Ranking Deputy Chieftain, and have the right to vote. |

There is a $30.00 initiation fee for Lineal Membership, which includes a membership pin. There is a $20.00 initiation fee for Associate Members, including a membership pin. Lapel pins for members are an additional $10 (i.e., a total of $30) Dues are $25.00 a year for both Lineal and Associate Members. Children or grandchildren of members may be registered as Junior Members for a fee of $5.00. They may become regular members at the age of eighteen with no initiation fee if application is made to the Registrar before their nineteenth birthday. Life Memberships are $300 - or if over 60 years of age, are $200. Life Member applicants need to include the initiation fee of $20, if they are not already a member and this is their first application to ACGS, or have not been a Junior Member. |
