Dr. Edward May Magruder Medical Scholarship

This scholarship is at the Universityof Virginia (UVA)  It was established in honor of Dr. Magruder in 1927, by a gift from the ACGS and is awarded annually to a student at the University of Virginia School of Medicine.

Recipients are selected in keeping with the need-based awarding policies established by the School of Medicine. ACGS members, children of members, or others who have lineage to the Clan Gregor, and who demonstrate need, are given first preference for these awards. If no student meets the criteria, consideration is given next to students who demonstrate need and who have identified themselves as being of Scottish descent.

If a student is selected for an award on the basis of lineage to Clan Gregor, or being of Scottish descent, the scholarship will be renewed annually, providing the availability of scholarship funds and the applicant's continued demonstration of need and of academic eligibility. Renewal of applications meeting the above stated conditions will take precedence over any new awards to applicants who only meet the need criterion.

For additional information visit the school's website or contact Ms. Nancy L. Zimmer, Director.
